Email BobI am the founding pastor of CrossRoads Church (formerly El Centro Cristiano), along with my wife (Arlynn) a little over ten years ago. I felt the Lord leading me into Ministry when I was 19. That led me to a couple of short-term missions experiences. The first was a two month intensive summer mission trip with a group called Spearhead a division of Latin America Missions in Mexico City. My second cross-cultural experience was in Fresnillo, Zacatecas Mexico. This time I served for a mission called Christ For Children International for a year and two months. It was while living in Mexico that I started to sense God leading me into Hispanic church-planting.
My ministerial training includes a Bachelors of Science degree in Christian Ministries from Southern Wesleyan University and a Masters of Evangelism degree from Wheaton College. But my greatest training has come from my now twelve years of pastoring/church planting: one summer internship with a UMC church in Virginia, a church-plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and now presently here San Antonio with CrossRoads Church.
I'm also the District's Missions Director for Texas and Louisiana of The Wesleyan Church, overseeing short-term trips to the Amazon Region of Peru.
The book that has most inspired me outside of the Bible is entitled "Bruchko".
Email WandaThe bible says, "Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it". Proverbs 22:6 NLT
It has been my honor and privilege to serve CrossRoads Church as the Children's Director. We believe that when children are taught the Word of God at a young age they will serve the Lord and will be able to stand up for what is right. We teach in a variety of ways to make learning fun and meaningful. We have wonderful teachers who love children and have a heart for God.
We have Vacation Bible School in the summer months, Children's Camp and on Wednesday evenings a program geared for the kids while the parents attend membership classes or Bible Studies. In the past we have converted our Church parking lot into a Fall Festival to offer an alternative to Halloween and even had an old fashioned hayride! Every Easter we have hundreds of eggs covering our grass and the kids go home with over flowing baskets of goodies. Last Christmas all the children participated in "A Mouse's Tale" a wonderful story of our Savior's birth. Our Sunday morning program includes Praise and Worship time, games, snacks, crafts and creative Bible stories.
Please come and join us and become part of a family oriented church that seeks Jesus Christ.
Email Ruben Some churches may use their deacon ministry a little differently than we... With that said, the word "deacon" comes from the Greek word "deaconos". The Bible uses this word in reference to ministries where the participants are serving. In fact Jesus said, "I came not to be be served but to serve." In the spirit of this understanding we are in the process of forming a deacon ministry team that will be the front line servant leaders of our church.
