I am the founding pastor of CrossRoads Church (formerly El Centro Cristiano), along with my wife (Arlynn) a little over eight years ago.  I felt the Lord leading me into Ministry when I was 19.  That led me to a couple of short-term missions experiences.  The first was a two month intensive summer mission trip with a group called Spearhead a division of Latin America Missions in Mexico City.  My second cross-cultural experience was in Fresnillo, Zacatecas Mexico.  This time I served for a mission called Christ For Children International for a year and two months.  It was while living in Mexico that I started to sense God leading me into Hispanic church-planting.

My ministerial training includes a Bachelors of Science degree in Christian Ministries from Southern Wesleyan University and a Masters of Evangelism degree from Wheaton College.  But my greatest training has come from my now twelve years of pastoring/church planting: one summer internship with a UMC church in Virginia, a church-plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and now presently here San Antonio with CrossRoads Church.

I'm also the District's Missions Director for Texas and Louisiana of The Wesleyan Church, overseeing short-term trips to the Amazon Region of Peru.

The book that has most inspired me outside of the Bible is entitled "Bruchko".

Bryan Funk - Youth Pastor

Greetings, I am Pastor Bryan; I oversee the youth ministry here at CrossRoads Church.  I am a husband to my beautiful, supportive wife, Erica and we have two awesomely rambunctious children, Avery (3) and Asa (2).

I received my B.A. from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in 2006 in Pastoral Ministries, and now have been in the ministry for the past tthree years. My wife and I have had experience in youth ministry volunteering at our last church in New Braunfels, TX.

I felt the Lord leading me to enter into the ministry a year after I committed my life to the Lord in 2001. I have a heart for the young generation that I am trying to reach as well as the college age students because I believe that this is definitive point in their life to see what the God of the Universe can offer them.

We call our ministry DUST Ministries, “where the dust of the Rabbis feet will be upon our face”. Our ministry is focused on the ages of 12-18 or from sixth grade to a senior in high school. We meet on Friday nights at 7pm>

We have worship and then we continue that worship with a message from God’s word. You are invited to come and get your faces dirty with us on Friday nights at 7pm as we fellowship and worship our Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessings.

Arlynn Ellis - Worship Director
Email Arlynn

I was Born in Tuscaloosa , Alabama and raised in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela. I am the Senior Pastor's wife, as well as the Worship and Women's Director.

Once I graduated from high school in Venezuela, I decided to move to Tuscaloosa, Alabama and go to school at the University of Alabama where I obtained my International Business Administration and Marketing degree. While in Tuscaloosa, I continued my search for God and need to fill the emptiness and loneliness in my heart. My walk with God is a result of my family's prayers, university's campus ministries and ultimately the grace of God.

In 1998, I met my husband at church and both committed our relationship to the Lord. We got married in 2001 and decided to move to San Antonio to start our marriage by following God's calling to plant CrossRoads Church (formerly called El Centro Cristiano). I am also proud to say that I am a mother of a 6 year old boy, who is a proud Texan. I am also the Women's Ministry Director for the TX/LA Wesleyan District.

In 2007, I received my Nonprofit Management Certification through the University of Texas in San Antonio. I am committed to see people live transformed lives so that they can change their families, communities and empower those around them with the Love of Christ.

"But the time is coming and is already here when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for anyone who will worship him that way." John 4:23

Wanda Hild - Children's Director

The bible says, "Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it".  Proverbs 22:6 NLT

It has been my honor and privilege to serve CrossRoads Church as the Children's Director.  We believe that when children are taught the Word of God at a young age they will serve the Lord and will be able to stand up for what is right.  We teach in a variety of ways to make learning fun and meaningful.  We have wonderful teachers who love children and have a heart for God.

We have Vacation Bible School in the summer months, Children's Camp and on Wednesday evenings a program geared for the kids while the parents attend membership classes or Bible Studies.  In the past we have converted our Church parking lot into a Fall Festival to offer an alternative to Halloween and even had an old fashioned hayride!  Every Easter we have hundreds of eggs covering our grass and the kids go home with over flowing baskets of goodies. Last Christmas all the children participated in "A Mouse's Tale"  a wonderful story of our Savior's birth. Our Sunday morning program includes Praise and Worship time, games, snacks, crafts and creative Bible stories.

Please come and join us and become part of a family oriented church that seeks Jesus Christ.
